What is ethics? Our textbook defines ethics as the study of right and wrong conduct. Who is it that decides what the right and wrong conduct is? We should all have personal ethics, but it is the legislation who decides what out ethics should be as a whole and those are our laws. The main focus of ethics is moral values. If we have a job and know a co-worker is stealing should we tell or not tell? Do we call the police if we know someone is abusing there child or not? In these two examples the ethical choice seems more like common sense, yet some people would do nothing because they do not want to get involved. Where do we draw the line? That’s why we have laws based on ethical principles so that those who decide not to make ethical†¦show more content†¦Also, you have to always think of how your decisions affect the people around you and that is the care based theory. Last but not least you have to worry if your choices follow the rules (laws) because if they don†™t, you will be in a lot of trouble and once again the trouble you are in affects others. Aristotle Aristotle would definitely approve of the solutions I came up with. Aristotle believed that there is good and bad in all virtues. I think that he would agree that the parents deserve a second chance. Aristotle stated, â€Å"No form without matter, no matter without form.† We have to have some kind of form or rules in society if we didn’t where would we be. Aristotle believed that good existed through the daily activity in human life not their past. If the parents we changed today, their past should be forgiven, because that was their daily activity.
